Say Goodbye to Acess Fees, Says CIBC

Monthly fees and monthly transaction limits are the bane of students everywhere. Student life almost requires you to have a steady a flow of crisp twenty dollar bills, as one never knows what party or late night pizza binge will come up. According to Stockhouse.com, CIBC has apparently heard students’ collective cry for assistance and created the CIBC Advantage® for Students offer.

Having begun June 1st, 2008, full-time students attending an accredited university or college in Canada are eligible for the offer, which promises no monthly fees or limits on number of transaction limits. CIBC representatives stated that they realize the glut of expenses students face each year and said that this offer is their way of lightening that load, so to speak.

Students can also benefit from free financial advice available from CIBC branches across Canada. Existing CIBC clients who already hold an account under the pre-existing CIBC Advantage® for Students Offer will automatically benefit from the introduction of free everyday banking as of June 1st. Comparatively, students under the age of 19 continue to be eligible for CIBC’s Advantage® for Youth offer, which includes free everyday banking, among other features.

Hopefully students won’t use this as an excuse to break the bank.
